It’s been difficult keeping up in my Halloween kitchen lately.
There are various reasons why but the only one that is actually interesting is because of spiders. That’s not a typo either–my life has actually been infested with spiders. Not just any kind of spiders though, in fact, they aren’t actual tangible ones. I have been bitten by a dozen imaginary spiders. Can I be any more ambiguous?
No, these spiders are more symbolic and they are full of love venom, if you catch my drift. Yes friends, it is true, I have been bitten by love spiders {kinda like what cupid is for Valentine’s Day; these spiders are for Halloween}… So as a tribute I have made a batch of these raw chocolate Spider Bites. Perfect for that extra touch needed on Hallow’s Eve.
Raw Chocolate Spider Bites Recipe
{Raw Vegan} Gluten, egg, and dairy-free
Makes a boatload of Bite-sized Spiders (which means I don’t know the exact number)
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 batch of Raw Fudgy Brownies base (omit walnuts)
- melted raw chocolate recipe for coating
- cacao nibs (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Follow recipe for Fudgy Brownies.
- Shape spiders by forming into 2 balls (one ball the size of a quarter; the other 1/3 its size)
- “Glue” head of spider onto the body with a dab of melted raw chocolate.
- Coat with raw chocolate until completely covered.
- Allow to chill and set in fridge.
- Place on place and create spider legs with raw chocolate (placed in a ziploc bag with a tiny hole cut out in the corner).
This post put the biggest smile on my face- I am so happy to hear that you’ve been bitten by the love bug- we need to hang out soon so I can hear more about this lucky, lucky guy!
P.S. Spider bites. I LOVE your ambiguity. 😉
Love spiders! Ooh la la! I’m glad it’s happy spiders keeping you out of the kitchen and not like omg, there are spiders in my GF baking mix spiders.
So cute. Leaving that ambiguous between you and the spiders because it’s a toss up. Na…you’re cuter. <3
eeeeekkkk!! I actually got a little creeped out by these guys – they look so real!!! 🙂
Your talent and creativity continue to amaze me and whoever is giving you the warm fuzzies is very lucky indeed! xx
Awe, love these! And I love that you’ve been bitten by the love bug ^_^ Makes me so happy to hear you are happy! xo
Love these love you and love that you’re in love. p.s. I’ve been thinking lately that you need to monetize your stinking blog, it’s all ready your part time job. Why not get paid for doing it? xx
i love these little charlottes <3 they look so chocolatey and full of love. so happy for you!
I love your theme and these spiders look delicious.
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Also, congrats on getting bitten by the love bug (or in your case, spider). 🙂
Reblogged this on deliciouscravings.
Well, colour me impressed 😉 These are adorable! I bet they required a lot of patience, something I don’t have a ton of haha
You know, they really aren’t too difficult to make Gabby. However, when you find yourself drifting off into la-la land, you will need some patience on your slow progression in the kitchen 🙂
Spiders are my biggest fear, so you’ll forgive me if I don’t say they are cute! I will, however, say that the ingredients look yummy. I’d make this, but I just couldn’t form them into that shape. LOL!
I say just make them into the Fudgy Brownies and you will be in heaven, sans spiders 🙂
bitten are we..:) those spideys are super cute.. can we get more details please 😉
Maaaaayyyybeeeee 🙂 *I’m blushing*
looks like your kitchen is off limits again this week ;);) i’ll probably be whipping up some your ghost pops for hubbs to take for the office!
Ah love spiders… The best kind. As long as they don’t wrap you up and leave you in a web somewhere… o.O Unless it was a chocolate web. Then that would be OK.
You are giving me ideas…ha. Wait a minute, that sounded perverted.
Well congratulations on being ‘bitten by love’! These chocolate spider bites sound like the perfect way to celebrate, or just to spookify a raw Halloween party. Nom nom nom!
Thank you, Willow. I am a very happy girl 🙂
Is this a cryptic hidden message, garnished with chocolate JOY that you are indulging in a bit of the lovey-dovey stuff?!?! Wheeeeeee! I sure do hope so! These are mega COOL Cara, but it’s way cooler that you’ve got some lurrrrrve in your life 😉
You are a great decoder, Lou. That’s all I’m saying for now 🙂
So you’re saying you’re in love….?!! Eeeeeeee! 😉
Emailing you. We need to catch up!
These are adorable! but I think there should be more love bug details!
To be continued…
hehe
How adorably cute and creative and WELCOME BACK darn it.
Aw shucks, Laurel. Thank you, gosh darn it 🙂 I’m back to the land of the living…
Kind of.
Yum! If you chill these after you make the legs, will the legs hardened and stay a part of the spider?
Stacy, definitely give it a shot. Place it on a piece of wax paper and chill, then use a metal spatula to get it off. I can foresee that they will be very delicate and might not all stay intact but it is definitely worth trying. Let me know if it works! xo
Ahhh, your halloween posts are so making me want to make a big halloween party just to have an occasion, where I can try your recipes ;pp
And you *will* be inviting me over if you do…
So cute! And, congratulations on being bitten by the love bug. 🙂
Best kind of bite ever.
