Energizer Juice

July 11, 2013 by Cara

A month ago when I chose to go vegan, I didn’t realize what a total change I would feel. (Truth is, this isn’t the first time that I have made the plunge but it is the first time that I have a different goal in mind for myself with this new eating change). After looking at the weight that I have lost in these 28 days, Matt said to me yesterday, “Wow, I cannot believe how different you look. Your body just does not like any animal products!” My body really has instantly changed over the last 4 weeks.  I have lost my typical bloat and I feel so much more comfortable in my skin–which reminds me, my skin has never looked better. I cannot count the number of people who have told me that my skin looks like it is glowing.

I attribute part of this to my new morning routine of breaking my fast (breakfast) with a juice. Buying a juicer has been one of the best investments I have made for my health. I cannot describe the energy boost it fills me with, nor can I explain the way it makes me feel after I drink it (kind of like the way a really good bowel movement makes you feel–as if you just accomplished the greatest thing ever). Don’t look at me like that. You know what I’m talking about…

energize

P.S. Start up a juicing routine along with a healthy vegan diet and say goodbye to constipation. If you want the wheels to start turning in your digestive tract, this is just the trick!

Energize Juice Recipe

This juice is perfect for that energy boost your morning coffee usually gives you

Serves 1-2 (for a masticating juicer, this yields around 16oz)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 beet
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2-3 handfuls of spinach
  • 1-2″ knob ginger

Sounds like good one. After marriage, I gained over 16 kilos. I am little bit embarrass myself. I think it’s time to move on vegan and loose some weight.

I will try this one for sure. Thanks, Cara!

Just getting started. Do I also juice the beautiful greens from the beets?

You can, Jodi, but if you are new to juicing I say try without and go from there 🙂

This recipe looks so simple! What kind of juicer do you use?

I haven’t experienced quite the same benefits as you since going vegan (still have digestive issues) but I definitely feel better! I must get a juicer and see if it helps!

Congrats on your journey. I love juicing and also own the Omega 8006 masticating juicer. I will never go back because of how much better that one juices greens-the most important item in my juice. I love your little juicing guide you published a bit ago. Especially the “extras”. Happy juicing!

Oh, and I love the BM comment. We are all afraid or embarrassed to talk about it but c’mon! Good elimination makes us healthy! I love a good BM and I’m quite proud of myself when I keep them regular and right. More power to ya, sister!

Congrats!! 🙂 It took me about 3 months to notice major differences after I went vegan but they were dramatic. I almost have no issues with IBS anymore (it used to run, and ruin, my life). Yay for vegan!
