DIY Lunchbox Scratch Off Messages

September 22, 2017 by Cara

Make your kid’s lunch FUN by creating your very own DIY Lunchbox Scratch Off Messages with Dole© Mixations. Just use a coin to scratch off the paint to reveal your secret message. Lunchbox notes just got elevated.

Dole Mixations are one-of-a-kind fruit fusions that are the perfect accompaniment to your kid’s lunchbox! Smooth fruit sauces with juicy chunks of real fruit, these portable on-the-go cups have no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, and are packed with Vitamin C. Good job mom and dad, you’re doing lunch boxes right! With five flavor pairings you can choose from: Apple-Strawberry with dices of apple, Pineapple-Mango with pineapple pieces, Peach-Apple with pineapple pieces, Apple-Raspberry with dices of apple, and their newest flavor Apple-Cherry with apple and dark sweet cherry pieces, you really can’t go wrong with any of them. Just create your own DIY Lunchbox Scratch Off Messages to glue on the tops of the cups and now you have the coolest kid in the cafeteria.

Making these DIY Lunchbox Scratch Off Messages is the perfect way to tell your kid a secret message, a joke, or even words of encouragement in a unique and FUN way! It’s a great way to add a little zest to their Dole Mixations cup in their lunchbox. I’m wishing this was an option when I was a kid! The only thing I got was a PB&J sandwich with my mom’s perfume all over it (she never quite got the memo that she should put her perfume on AFTER she made my lunch, not before).

The process to make these DIY Lunchbox Scratch Off Messages is really easy. In fact, you might want to make several of them so you have them on hand for weeks to comes. All you have to do is:

  1. Trace the outline of the tops of the Dole Mixations cups to the cardstock paper with the black pen.
  2. Make your own unique designs on each circle, creating your own secret message, joke, or words of encouragement.
  3. Color it in with your markers.
  4. Using your white crayon, color in the secret message.
  5. Using equal parts dish soap and acrylic paint, mix together and paint over the secret message with your paint brush. Allow to dry. You might need to paint over a couple of times in order to fully cover the message.
  6. Cut out of the circles with your scissors and glue to the top of each Dole Mixations cups.
  7. Throw into your kid’s lunchbox. Don’t forget to include a coin to use to scratch off their secret message!
