  • Author: Fork & Beans
  • Prep Time: 25 mins
  • Cook Time: 25 mins
  • Total Time: 50 mins
  • Yield: 1 large pizza 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tsp. instant dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 3/4 c. Cara’s Light Flour Blend
  • 1 tsp. xanthan gum
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Italian seasoning:

  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast into warm water. Add the sugar and lightly mix until dissolved. Allow to sit for 10 minutes to proof (becomes foamy). If it does not foam up, that either means your yeast is expired and/or your water was too hot/cold.
  2. Add the olive oil to proofed yeast liquid.
  3. Whisk together the flour blend, xanthan gum, sea salt, and the Italian seasoning.
  4. Add the wet mix into the flour and mix with a wooden spoon for 1 minute. Your dough WILL not resemble typical pizza dough. It will be sticky and not able to form into a dry dough ball.
  5. Cover the bowl with a cloth and allow to sit for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  7. With oiled fingers, spread the dough over a greased pizza pan until you create a 14″ pizza. Cover and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  8. Pre-bake your pizza dough for 10 minutes. Add the toppings and bake another 12-15 minutes or until your toppings are nicely browned.
