Hanukkah Recipes for Kids

December 5, 2015 by Cara

Need some food art inspiration during the upcoming festival of lights? Because I believe that no child should feel left out, food restriction (or religion too), I was so excited to take a stab at some super fun Hanukkah recipes for kids this year and could not be any more excited to share them with you here!

4 FUN Hanukkah recipes for kids

Let this Hanukkah season be full of creativity with edible treats that any child will love (adults too!) The best part is that all 4 of these Hanukkah Recipes for Kids are no bake and easy to make. Oh and they are also gluten free and vegan too. Now tell me, who’s got your back? That’s right, it’s me.

1. Hanukkah Puppy Chow: Take an old tradition of Puppy Chow and give it a Hanukkah twist with this delicious dessert snack. It’s the perfect blend of salty and sweet…and a hint of blue!

  • 1 1/2 c. gluten free cereal
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. nondairy white chocolate chips
  • 1 handful gluten free pretzel sticks
  • blue colored allergen-friendly candies (I used NoNo’s)

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave safe bowl, warm up the peanut butter and white chocolate together until just melted.
  2. Place the cereal in a large plastic bag, add the melted peanut butter and white chocolate to coat the cereal. Add the powdered sugar, seal, and shake vigorously until evenly coated.
  3. Pour into a bowl, add the pretzels, white chocolate chips, and NoNo’s (or other blue-colored candies).

2. Star of David Pretzels: Surprise your little ones with a special treat with these Star of David chocolate-covered pretzels in their lunchbox. What a creative way to celebrate the holiday!

3. PB & J Dreidels: Turn a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich into fun-sized, edible dreidels! Don’t forget the strawberry Hebrew letters. Too cute for words.
