Gluten Free Halloween Brownies

  • Author: Fork & Beans
  • Prep Time: 20 mins
  • Cook Time: 20 mins
  • Total Time: 40 mins
  • Yield: 12 Brownies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Bats:

  • 1 1/2 c. melted dairy free chocolate
  • 18 dark chocolate discs
  • 24 sunflower seeds
  • 24 homemade googly eyes
  • chocolate sprinkles

For the Owls:

  • 1 1/2 c. melted dairy free chocolate
  • 24 dark chocolate discs
  • chocolate sprinkles
  • 72 sunflower seeds
  • 24 homemade googly eyes
  • 12 almonds (use pumpkin seeds for a nut free version)

Instructions

  1. Allow the brownies to fully cool before cutting them into squares. Use a round cookie cutter and gently cut each square into circle. Discard the brownie scraps.

For the Bats:

  1. Cut all 18 dark chocolate discs in half (12 of these will be the wings). Take the remainder 6 that are cut in half and cut in half again (these will the ears).
  2. Place each brownie circle on a piece of parchment paper and drizzle with melted chocolate until the tops and sides are coated. Save the leftover melted chocolate for “glue.”
  3. Coat each brownie bite with chocolate sprinkles.
  4. Immediately add the wings and ears into the brownies before the chocolate sets.
  5. Using the remainder melted chocolate, glue the googly eyes and sunflower seeds onto the top of the brownies.
  6. Allow to fully set.

For the Owls:

  1. Follow the same procedure as the bats but instead of cutting the discs in half, use the 24 whole dark chocolate discs for the eyes.
