Healthy Witch Fingers

October 18, 2014 by Cara

I am on a rage today. It’s Day 6 of my Anti-Candida diet and now the hardcore cravings are starting to really set in. Up until this point I have just wanted fruit. A banana, a handful of blueberries, anything naturally sweet. But today. Oh Lordie, today. I want beer. I want chips. I want to dip those chips into salsa. I want French fries. I want scotch. In that order. Instead I am snacking on healthy witch fingers made from celery and almond butter.

Save all that sugar for Halloween and feed your kids an almond butter and celery Healthy Witches Fingers treats. Don't forget the almond fingernails!

Don’t get me wrong, they are a spooky treat this month and a fun way to indulge in a healthy snack but even the candy bars at the register of the store are calling my name. They never* sound good to me (*okay, rarely) and I definitely have never heard them speak my name. Until yesterday. That Snickers Bar, I swear to God, actually whispered my name. I had to flee. It was torture. I just want candy. I want chocolate. I want all of the chocolate. Sorry about that. I had to vent; it’s the only thing making me feel better. That and herbal tea.

Save all that sugar for Halloween and feed your kids an almond butter and celery Healthy Witches Fingers treats. Don't forget the almond fingernails!

So basically I cannot have the following:
      Sugar in all forms
      Dairy
      Gluten
      Corn
      Caffeine
      Alcohol
      Most fruit
      Starchy veggies
      Limited grains
      Limited beans/legumes
      Anything processed/refined

So I think that is a no to the majority on your list. And don’t you dare tempt me with scotch! ha. One glass and that will set me back 10 days of recovering from bad withdrawals. Naughty, naughty. Actually it doesn’t sound good to me currently (the hard part is finally over with). I’m not having stomach issues so this new way of eating is making it all worth it. So taunt all you want sister. I’ve got iron-clad willpower currently. Tomorrow, well, that’s a different story… xo!
