Cauliflower: 3 Different Ways

February 26, 2015 by Cara

Sometimes it’s difficult to see past a vegetable and imagine new ways to use it other than raw in your salad or boringly steamed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s delicious and healthy in its own right but sometimes it gets well, boring. There has GOT to be a way to spice things up while sticking with a plant-based diet. Well, what if I told you that you could take one ingredient and transform it into three different ways that will not only expand your view about that particular vegetable but also transform your dinner plate? Let’s take cauliflower. Cauliflower is one of those wonder veggies as it’s versatility is rather astounding. I know, it looks like a human brain, how exciting can it be, right? Wrong. There are so many places you can go with this vegetable.

Cauliflower: 3 different ways with this INCREDIBLE veggie. In my opinion, cauliflower is the veggie-lovers best friend, more so than kale. That is a debate I am willing to fight because truthfully cauliflower has my heart. Not only is it packed with nutrition but it is also can be prepared like a meat dish or even a grain. I mean, what other vegetable can hold that claim?  Cauliflower: 3 Different Ways!

Cauliflower: 3 different ways with this INCREDIBLE veggie.

Slice up the head of cauliflower in a new, different way to create what looks like cutlets. Bread them, fry (or bake) them, and slather them in marinara sauce for a very comparable Parmesan dinner dish.

Go meatless for dinner with this Cauliflower Parmesan; pairs perfectly with spaghetti!

Process the cauliflower in a food process or grate it for a rice-like size and look to create this Cauliflower Spanish “Rice.” If you are watching your grain-intake this is a great way to feel like you are eating rice but still maintaining a safe-for-you diet OR it’s just a great option to include another veggie onto your plate.

A new twist on a classic rice dish--try using cauliflower instead for a grain-free Cauliflower Spanish Rice dish.

Chinese food take-out, move over! There’s a new Crispy Orange Chicken in town and it’s made with…yup, you guessed it, cauliflower. You might pass out when you have one taste of this dish so make sure there are lots of pillows nearby.

Now what are you waiting for? Go to the grocery store, stock up on some cauliflower and start making dinner tonight with it.

I love cauliflower raw, with some vegan cheese, but my favourite way to eat it is in soup, Can’t stop πŸ˜‰
