Creepy Eyeball Roll Ups

October 16, 2015 by Cara

So the scenario goes: Your little one’s classroom is having a Halloween party next week and you’ve been nominated to bring a snack. You panic and freeze in your tracks because you know it needs to be:

  1. Easy for you to make
  2. Healthy
  3. Allergen friendly

With the multiple food allergies in your child’s classroom, you want to make sure that this is a spooktacular snack that is enjoyable for ALL of the kids. What are you to do?! Thank god for FlatOut bread and it’s healthy spin on fun snack food ideas for kids! With these Creepy Eyeball Roll Ups now all the kiddos at the party can have an edible eye of their own. Nut free, gluten free option, and free of candy! Well, except for the googly eyes (those are optional of course). You can always replace them with blueberries if you life.

Creepy Eyeball Roll Ups made with sunflower see butter, jelly, bananas, and FlatOut bread. It's a great snack idea to bring to your kid's classroom!

The best part (aside from it being allergen friendly) mom and dad, is that it is such an easy snack for you to put together. We know you don’t have the time to create anything elaborate but you still want to send your kids off with something somewhat homemade and good for their bones. And since candy will be in abundance this season, we know that it’s important to you to keep things as healthy as possible. Festive holiday treats don’t always have to be coated in chocolate and sugar, don’tcha know? Here’s proof:

The plastic spiders are not included but, of course, are always encouraged.

Recipe notes:

These Creepy Eyeball Roll Ups taste best when made the day of, right before consumed. Because you are using a banana, preparing the day before might be a little tricky since the banana will turn brown. Thankfully they are very easy to assemble so right before you leave to drop these off to your child’s classroom, you can roll them up quickly, skewer two eyeballs together, stick a homemade googly eye in the middle of each roll up, throw them on a tray and you are good to go!
