No Bake Apple Donuts

July 31, 2017 by Cara

Ever since I made my Watermelon Donuts a few years back, I’ve become obsessed with donut-ifying whatever fruit (or food) I can get my hands on. And because apples have been a craze over the internet, I thought making No Bake Apple Donuts, Fork & Beans style, would be a fun way to celebrate the upcoming season of back-to-school snacks. That’s right, we are already talking all things back-to-school for the kids*

*I figure out what time of the year it is based off of what’s displayed in the seasonal section of Target and today it was full of backpacks, glue, and markers. Hence, back-to-school season must be upon us.

These easy, no bake apple donuts are the perfect after school snack for kids, full of healthy and good-for-you ingredients.

If you ask me, school seems to start earlier and earlier with every year. I remember the good ol’ days when summer wouldn’t end until after Labor Day. None of this starting the school year in August nonsense. Listen to me, I sound like an old woman. I remember back in my day…

No Bake Apple Donuts recipe notes:

1. If you plan on packing these up in your kid’s lunchbox, do not skip the water and lemon juice step. It will keep the apples from turning brown.

2. The “frosting” is not sweetened but if you want, you can add a tablespoon of maple syrup to give it a little sweet kick.

My school still starts after Labor Day. But I remember being aware that lots of kids started school earlier. I think a lot of it depends on where you live in the US. I love these apple donuts!

Yeah I hear you! I just remember the area in which I grew up in started so much later than they do now. Everything has changed…those young whippersnappers 😉 Time to eat apple donuts and reminisce on the good ol’ days…
