Nut Free Snacks

August 14, 2018 by Cara

When it comes to school lunches and snacks, it’s easy to go for the peanut butter and slather it on everything. But since peanuts are asked to be omitted in most schools these days due to food allergies, what are some good Nut Free Snacks that you can include in your child’s lunch? Here are ten of my favorite options that are full of flavor, full of fun, and are completely nut free snacks for kids:

01|10: CELERY AND SEED BUTTER MASON JARS

What you’ll need:

  • Celery sticks
  • seed butter of choice
  • Enjoy Life’s Seed and Fruit Mix (nut free!)
  • Mason jar

Instructions:

  1. Coat the bottom layer of the jar with seed butter.
  2. Layer with the seed and fruit medley.
  3. Top with celery sticks and close the lid.

02|10: GUACADILES

Avocados made to looks like crocodiles

03|10: VEGAN FRUIT GUMMIES

04|10: COOKIE DOUGH HUMMUS

05|10: FRUIT ON THE BOTTOM YOGURT CUPS

A homemade chia jam, layered with yogurt, and topped with nut free granola. Put it in a mason jar and now you have a portable, on-the-run snack! Get the recipe here.

06|10: APPLE STACKS

What you’ll need:

  • 1 apple
  • seed butter of choice
  • Enjoy Life Seed and Fruit mix
  • Enjoy Life mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Cut the apple into horizontal slices, making approximately 6 slices total.
  2. Cut the middle of each slice with a small circle cookie cutter (this is optional).
  3. Coat one with seed butter and top with the seed and fruit mix and mini chocolate chips. Top with another slice of apple with just a slather or seed butter.
  4. Stack with the other apple slices in that pattern.

07|10: RICE CAKE FLOWERS

And you thought rice cakes were boring. Silly you! Top with hummus and fresh veggies for the perfect nut free snack. Get the recipe here.

08|10: KID BENTO SNACK BOXES

09|10: HUMMUS DIPPERS

What you’ll need:

  • 1 bag Enjoy Life Plentils Grab ‘n Go (my favorite flavor is Dill and Sour Cream)
  • Hummus of choice
  • empty fruit cup, cleaned out
  • mason jar

Instructions:

  1. Place a package of Enjoy Life Plentils into a mason jar.
  2. Fill your favorite hummus (make sure it is sesame free) into the plastic, emptied out fruit cup. Place on top of the cover for the mason jar and then secure with the twist top.

Adorable as always. Pretty soon, well in about 2 years, you’ll have a in-house taste tester for these kid friendly snacks. Of course you won’t have the TIME to make the snacks but you’ll still have the staff. xoxo

There is a store locator on Enjoy Life Foods website. You can easily input your zip code and find the closest place to buy them 🙂 OR you can also buy them online on their site, woohoo!
