Evening Snacks for Kids

Whether you call it a snack, a treat, or dessert, here are 30 of my top evening snacks for kids. These aren’t just any recipes though. Every recipe actually has a healthier twist to them, allowing you to feel good about the food you are feeding your kids after dinner. 

01|30: PEANUT BUTTER AND CELERY

It’s one of my favorite snacks from childhood and now it has a cute makeover by turning them into owls. You don’t have to design them as anything. Just a simple evening snack of peanut butter and celery is fine, too.

02|30: COOKIE DOUGH HUMMUS

Tastes like cookie dough but it’s made from chickpeas? This sweet hummus is balanced with protein and oatmeal for a filling evening snack.

03|30: APPLE DONUTS 

Slices of apples made to look like donuts, topped with nutella and sprinkles

Sure, you can make apple slices frosted with peanut butter, but why stop there where you can cut apples into a donut shape and adorn them with sprinkles?

04|30: HEALTHY CHOCOLATE PUDDING

Feel good about giving your kids this dessert as it contains some mega foods that are actually healthy: cashews, sweet potatoes, and cocoa powder!

05|30: NICE CREAM MILKSHAKES

These are actually milkshakes that have been made with NICE cream. The whipped cream and sprinkles are optional but this is a great alternative to the sugar-filled milkshakes we are all used to.

 06|30: HEALTHY ICE CREAM SANDWICHES

Don’t be fooled, this isn’t your ordinary ice cream sandwich. These are bean-based cookies sandwiching banana nice cream.

07|30: FROZEN SMOOTHIES

A frozen smoothie in the shape of a silly monster mold

For any remaining smoothie leftovers, pour them into fun-shaped ice pop molds and freeze. This way, your kids can grab for an easy evening snack, especially during those hot summer nights.

08|30: HOMEMADE FROZEN YOGURT

Three ingredients make for this incredibly easy frozen yogurt. It will feel like a treat but you can rest assured that you are feeding your kids part of their daily serving of fruit.

09|30: VEGAN FRUIT GUMMIES

Turn your fruit into bear form with these easy fruit gummy snacks that are made with agar powder instead of gelatin.

Perfect for the milk drinkers, this treat of homemade (and easy!) nut milk is flavored by, yep you guessed it: FRUIT!

All you need is your favorite yogurt and freeze it, making an easy and cool down snack to grab and go. Try making it into different designs, even this Unicorn-inspired yogurt bark, sprinkles and all.

12|30: GUACAMOLE AND VEGGIES

For the savory treat lovers out there, a simple snack of baby carrots dipped in guacamole can hit the spot. Try putting your next feast of guacamole into the shape of Guacadiles!

13|30: OATMEAL BARS

Sweetened with bananas, this no-spoon-needed oatmeal bar is the perfect evening treat for filling up that belly and feeling satisfied.

Using dates and peanut butter as the caramel sauce, these caramel apple stacks are the perfect blend of a healthy treat. Top with granola or chopped nuts for a protein-packed crunch.

15|30: APPLES AND NUT (OR SEED) BUTTER

Another classic treat turned silly, these Apple Bites are a fun play on the easy snack of fruit and nut butter. Again, silly faces are optional.

16|30: PUMPKIN PIE IN A CUP

All the flavors of fall in a parfait, these cups are an easy-to-make treat made pumpkin puree and cashews. Top with coconut whipped cream for the perfect dairy free dessert!

Packed with oats, nuts and sweetened with honey, these homemade granola bars have endless flavor combos you can play with!

Slice up watermelon into the shapes of donuts and top with whipped cream for a healthier alternative to donuts. Just don’t forget this sprinkles!

Whip up an easy dairy free ranch dressing, perfect for dipping veggies into. You might get bonus points for cutting the veggies like flowers but that isn’t required for big smiles on your kids’ faces.

When you need a snack with a crunch, these kale chips are a great choice instead of grabbing the potato chip bag.
